Do you want the best and most successful oral health possible? If so, then it’s best to brush your teeth twice a day, floss your smile once a day, and visit your dentist, Dr. Glen Lockwood, every six months. However, there are also more things you can do to keep your smile in tip-top shape, and those things are:

-Brush up at the office: If you want to keep a top-notch smile at work, then we recommend brushing your teeth after you’ve eaten lunch. However, if you ate or drank something acidic, make sure to wait 30 minutes before brushing. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brushing will help you keep your smile clean and will also help you avoid having embarrassing “food-stuck-in-your-smile” moments.

-Wear a mouthguard: Participating in high-contact sports and activities can be extremely dangerous for your smile, so it’s best to wear a mouthguard while you are active. Wearing a mouthguard will help you prevent tooth injuries, including chipped, fractured, and knocked-out teeth. You can find a mouthguard at any sporting goods store or your dentist’s office.

-Use a tongue scraper: If you want a completely clean smile and a fresh breath, you can use a tongue scraper. Using a tongue scraper will help you wash away the bacteria on your tongue and will also freshen your breath. All you need to do is place the tip of the scraper on the back of the tongue and gently bring it forward, removing the bacteria, film, and particles that reside on the surface.

-Rinse your mouth: After brushing and flossing at night, try rinsing your mouth with mouthwash. Rinsing will help you finish the smile-cleaning job, freshen your breath, and strengthen your tooth enamel. As you rinse, it’s best to rinse with antibacterial or fluoride mouthwash.
